Art Basel Miami Beach

Casa Dragones joined artists, celebrities and art patrons at this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach for the fourth year in a row. Amidst the late night revelry and daytime art lectures, Casa Dragones hosted elegant events for VIPs and collectors.

On Tuesday, as part of the VIP Opening Reception, Casa Dragones joined the Art Production Fund Picnic, where founders Yvonne Force Real and Dorren Remen welcomed guests to the Standard Spa in Miami for a picnic-style cocktail party. Guests enjoyed Casa Dragones Blanco on the rocks and in our signature White Dragon cocktail while lounging on towels by artists James Rosenquist and Glenn Ligon, as part of the Artist Towel Series.

The Art Production Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to commissioning and producing ambitious public art projects, reaching new audiences and expanding awareness through contemporary art.

On Thursday, Casa Dragones joined Dr. Kira and Neil Flanzraich of the Tate Americas Foundation to host over 100 guests at the W Hotel in celebration of Art Basel and Tate Americas Foundation. Casa Dragones Joven was served at an elegant blue bar to guests including Bruce Weber, Colin Cowie, and Christen and Derek Wilson.

The Tate Americas Foundation (formerly known as American Patrons of the Tate) is an independent charity that supports the work of Tate in the United Kingdom. It does this by acquiring works of art – by gift or acquisition – and by raising money to grant to Tate. For over 25 years, this endowment has purchased seminal works by artists including John Baldessari, Louise Bourgeois, Philip Guston, Roni Horn, Joan Jonas, Christian Marclay, Bruce Nauman, Hélio Oiticica, Cy Twombly, Cindy Sherman, David Smith, Jeff Wall and Lawrence Weiner.

A Historic Ride Through Mexico

To kick off Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations, Casa Dragones once again joined the “Cabalgata Histórica,” one of the most unique and picturesque events in Mexico.

Beginning in Queretero and ending in San Miguel de Allende, The “Cabalgata Histórica” is a historic horseback ride commemorating the moment that Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, insurgent and supporter of the Mexican War of Independence, informed Miguel Hidalgo, Juan Aldama, and Ignacio Allende, captain of the Dragones of San Miguel, that their plans to start the movement of independence had been discovered.

Soon after, Allende, Aldama, Hidalgo and the Dragones rode on this historic path to Dolores to officially start the war of Independence with “El Grito de Independencia.”

Casa Dragones is inspired by the independent spirit of the legendary Dragones of San Miguel de Allende, paying homage to Mexican Independence Day with the “16” on each of our bottles. Learn more about the history of Casa Dragones in San Miguel de Allende here.

Top Chefs And Bartenders Aboard the Freedom Yacht

A warm, New York summer night became the ideal backdrop for our second jamming session celebrating the first batch of Casa Dragones Blanco hosted by Co-Founders Bertha González Nieves and Bob Pittman aboard the Freedom Yacht. Restored to perfection, the sister ship of the U.S.S. Sequoia Presidential Yacht is an elegant 1930’s yacht that shares our passion for craftsmanship.

Taking inspiration from musical jamming sessions, world class chefs and bartenders were teamed up to create spontaneous cocktails, using one constant ingredient: Casa Dragones Blanco. Inspired by its refined taste and crisp notes, the teams crafted innovative cocktails using fresh, seasonal produce and specialty ingredients.

Pioneers in molecular gastronomy; Mexico’s Chef Enrique Olvera of the restaurant Pujol and mixologist Dave Arnold of Booker & Dax took to the bar to craft the Cilantro Margarita; a new take on the traditional cocktail, with an innovative twist using liquid nitrogen.

Frank Falcinelli and Frank Castronovo from New York’s restaurant Frankies Spuntino and Sasha Petraske from Milk & Honey teamed up to craft the Freedom Charter, a cocktail using muddled nectarines complimented by lime juice and Aleppo pepper.

James Beard Award winner and mastermind of Please Don’t Tell (PDT), Jim Meehan joined Chef Jamie Bissonnette from Coppa to take on the traditional Rebujito, elevating it with a made on-site lemon balm syrup and sherry.

The atmosphere on board was electrifying and filled with creativity and inspiration. Guests partied into the night and enjoyed these new and unique Casa Dragones Blanco cocktails.
