A Feast For All the Senses
Group Exhibition
We were thrilled to be a part of a big night for our friends from the Kurimanzutto Gallery as they opened a group exhibition at the Jessica Silverman Gallery in San Francisco.
Titled ‘from here to there’, the show includes works by celebrated Mexican artists, including Dr. Lakra, Gabriel Kuri and Gabriel Orozco. The exhibit is extremely exciting for both galleries: the Kurimanzutto Gallery is world-renowned and the Jessica Silverman gallery has played host to many now-famous emerging artists. The opening attracted an eclectic crowd, including Jessica Silverman herself and José Kuri, owner of Kurimanzutto.
Dinner & Cocktails
As well as the inspiring company and inspirational art of offer, guests were treated to authentic Mexican food and two bespoke, signature cocktails created using Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco. One creation from bar manager, Marsilio Gabuardi, of the Cala restaurant, was inspired by the pure essence of agave found in Casa Dragones Blanco. Gabuardi blends fresh elements that take you on a journey, with an initial hint of fruit, then on to a herbal finish with pleasantly floral notes.
Dinner was served in the Cala restaurant, prepared by Chef Gabriela Camara of Mexico City’s Contramar restaurant. The menu featured a number of modern, Mexican dishes chosen to complement Casa Dragones Joven. Camara identified that the tequila’s pure taste works well with a number of dishes, but particularly seafood, and included mussel tamal and rock cod in her selection.
The evening was informative, interesting and inspiring – it was a true pleasure to be in the company of such creative talent from the ever-changing, ever-exciting worlds of modern art and fine dining.
