Abraham Cruzvillegas’ Opening of “Empty Lot” at Tate Modern
Casa Dragones was pleased to join Kurimanzutto, Thomas Dane Gallery, Regen Projects and Galerie Chantal Crousel to celebrate Mexican artist Abraham Cruzvillegas’ exciting opening of “Empty Lot” at the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern. The party was held at the expansive Village Underground in Shoreditch, London on Monday night and featured the creative and astounding cuisine of Chef Elena Reygadas, paired with Tequila Casa Dragones Joven. Later, Casa Dragones Blanco on the rocks was served as guests celebrated and danced into the night. Notable guests included Gabriel Orozco, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Monica Manzutto, Jose Kuri, Diego Luna, director Alfonso Cuarón, and more. Casa Dragones created special personalized bottles for the artist, using the phrase Lote Baldio, meaning Empty Lot in Spanish. Empty Lot is a massive sculpture created by two large stepped triangular platforms with scaffolding, supporting a grid of triangular wooden planters, and representing the artist ongoing interest in ancient agricultural methods of Mexico City, and temporary architecture.
