Going Above and Beyond at The Sixth iHeartRadio Music Festival
For the sixth year in a row, the iHeartRadio Music Festival brought some of the biggest names in the music industry together for two nights of back-to-back performances. The electric atmosphere of Las Vegas and a packed T-Mobile Arena welcomed the first artists to the stage on Friday night including OneRepublic, Sam Hunt, Los 5, Twenty One Pilots and the incredible vocal prowess of the one and only Sia. In a surprise appearance, Miley Cyrus joined Billy Idol on stage before a performance by U2 followed by Drake finished off the Festival’s first night and left the crowd begging for an encore. Throughout the weekend, Tequila Casa Dragones was poured backstage for artists as well as at the VIP platforms and lounges.
Britney Spears kicked off the Music Festival’s second night before country duo, Florida Georgia Line took their melodies to the Main Stage with a piano and guitars in tow. Suddenly, and through excited smiles, the duo broke into the 1997 hit single, “Backstreet’s Back,” and were joined by all five members of the Backstreet Boys for another surprise appearance as jaws everywhere dropped in surprise. The pulsating set by Cage The Elephant sent shockwaves of energy throughout the arena while performances by Ariana Grande, Zedd, Pitbull, Tears for Fears and Sting kept the audience up and out of their seats for the rest of the night. In an incredible showing of his dedication to both the Festival and to his fans across the country, Usher appeared on stage flanked by Ludacris and Lil Jon as the night’s explosive closing act after having practically just stepped off the plane from performing at New York City’s Global Citizens Festival earlier that day.
