Danh Vo Artist Edition (2015)
mothertongue

Tequila Casa Dragones and Danh Vo collaborated on an Artist Edition collection honoring the artist’s installation, mothertongue, at the Danish Pavilion at 2015 La Biennale Di Venezia, 56th international art exhibition. Comprised of twelve mixed-media pieces, the exhibit drew from many inspirations, most notably the iconic 1973 film The Exorcist. Hidden Amongst Vo’s installation was an Artist Edition bottle that was hand-inscribed with a quote from the film by Vo’s father Phung Vo, whose elegant calligraphy is often present in the artist’s work. The bottle is part of a collection of five directed by the artist, each hand-inscribed with a different phrase from The Exorcist.

Danh Vo Artist Edition (2015)
Slip of the Tongue

Danh Vo presented this Artist Edition in honor of the exhibit, Slip of the Tongue, Palazzo Grassi – Punta Della Dogana – Pinault Collection, 2015, where Danh Vo was invited to collaborate not only as an artist but as a curator. The exhibition title, Slip of the Tongue, is borrowed from artist Nairy Baghramian, who was in active conversation with Vo during his curation of the show. Amongst 39 other artists, three of Baghramian’s installations were presented within Vo’s curation. For this Artist Edition, Vo’s father hand-inscribed the labels with his elegant calligraphy.
