Cantina La no. 20’s Hugo Guerrero takes a fresh twist on a classic with his “Margarita Albahaca”, blending the ancient Mayan liqueur xtabentun with lemon juice and basil to enhance the semi-sweet notes of Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco.
Recipe
1.75 oz. Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco
Fresh green basil leaves
0.8 oz. Xtabentún
0.6 oz. Lime juice
0.5 oz. Basil syrup
Combine all the ingredients, shake, and strain into an old fashioned glass with two ice cubes.
