Mixologist Luis Franklin Hernández of Mexico City’s KO MA, joined Casa Dragones in San Miguel de Allende for a bartender residency in the Tasting Room. Here, he presents the “Margarita Recreo”: a fragrant and especially festive take on a classic margarita, made especially for Día de Muertos.
2 oz. Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco
¼ oz. basil extract
¼ oz. citrus honey
¼ oz. lime juice
Fresh basil for garnish
Combine all ingredients and shake with ice. Wrap a rocks glass in edible marigold paper. Single-strain into glass over ice. Garnish with fresh basil.
