Mother of Dragons
A Game of Thrones cocktail fit for Khaleesi. Gracefully blending Casa Dragones Tequila Blanco with fresh fruit, agave, Lustau Amontillado Almacenista, and a heavy dose of Hellfire shrub—a barman’s equivalent to dragon fire, Jeff Bell of New York City’s secret Please Don’t Tell bar creates the “Mother of Dragons” cocktail, exclusively for Vanity Fair Magazine.
1.5 oz. Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco
.75 oz. Lustau Amontillado Almacenista sherry
.5 oz. Agave syrup
1 Lime peel for garnish
1 Lime wedge
10 Drops of Bittermens Hellfire Shrub
Muddle a lime wedge, one raspberry, and one blackberry with agave syrup in a cocktail tin until the fruit is completely macerated. Add the tequila, sherry, and the Hellfire Shrub. Shake with ice and strain into a chilled rocks glass, and top with crushed ice. Garnish with one raspberry, one blackberry, and a lime peel cut into an egg-shaped disk. Caution: dragon fire has the unfortunate effect of melting ice, so park those babies outside.
