Hammer Museum’s Gala in the Garden
Casa Dragones headed to Los Angeles on Sunday, Oct. 14 for the 16th annual Gala in the Garden by the Hammer Museum, which raised a record-breaking $2.6 million to be put toward the museum’s free exhibitions and public programs. Casa Dragones had just previously celebrated with the museum to honor the opening of American conceptual artist Adrian Piper’s retrospective, “Adrian Piper: Concepts and Intuitions, 1965-2016.”
This year, the Gala honored Margaret Atwood and Glenn Ligon for the profound contributions they have made to society through their work. Among the 550 guests were Tom Ford, Frank Gehry, Bryan Stevenson, Michael Chabon, Armie Hammer, Zoe Saldana, and museum director Ann Philbin; musician Leon Bridges attended and performed.
During cocktail hour, the featured drinks were Dragones Rocks and the Stumblebee by Jim Meehan, followed by a dinner of grilled Jidori chicken by Chef Suzanne Goin of Lucques. It was an honor to be featured at this iconic celebration.
