An exceptional drink is born from creativity, freedom, and a deep understanding of ingredients and how they interact. While some may debate this, there is no great cocktail without great spirits.

The renowned ultra-premium tequila Casa Dragones celebrates a new edition of Jamming Sessions, a mixology experience that elevates flavors, ingredients, and Mexican character.

Jamming Sessions 2025

We all love a DJ set, and Tequila Casa Dragones reinterprets the concept of “jamming”—that moment of free, collaborative music-making—translating it into its field of expertise: mixology. The event is not just a competition, but a cultural exchange of knowledge and experience, where even the most skeptical palates open up to new possibilities.

The competition began with 16 semifinalists, selected to present a cocktail inspired by their favorite Mexican dish, using Casa Dragones Blanco. In collaboration with Handshake Speakeasy, the recipes were recreated and evaluated, leading to the selection of eight finalists based on presentation, originality, and use of ingredients.

La Casa Dragones, in San Miguel de Allende, set the stage to host the eight finalists in this 2025 edition of Jamming Sessions. The competing mixologists were:

  1. Tracy Eustaquio, Pascual – Washington, DC, USA

  2. Ivan Felix Morales, Great American Misiones – Juárez, Mexico

  3. Miguel Angel Gómez Núñez, Sunset Monalisa – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

  4. Jose Luis Martínez Martínez, Selva Oaxaca – Oaxaca, Mexico

  5. Gabriela Laguna Sánchez, Ticuchi – Mexico City, Mexico

  6. Maria Girbaldi, Moon Rabbit – Washington, DC, USA

  7. Antonio Miñarro Alonso, Einstein Bar – St. Gallen, Switzerland

  8. Alfredo Pineda Fernández, Waldorf Astoria – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Competing against a 45-minute timer, the mixologists tested their skills across two phases. In the first, they were tasked with creating a cocktail to pair with a fine dining dish selected at random. In the second, celebrating Mexican heritage, they presented a recipe inspired by Día de Muertos.

The Winners

After both rounds, the jury deliberated and announced the winners:

First Place: Alfredo Pineda Fernández – Waldorf Astoria Pedregal, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Second Place: Gabriela Laguna Sánchez – Ticuchi, Mexico City, Mexico

Both winners were awarded a Bartender Ambassadorship and presented their winning cocktails at Barra México in Mexico City.

The event was a celebration of passion for tequila and Mexican culture. Through this experience, Casa Dragones demonstrated that creativity, national pride, and cultural expression are at the heart of everything it does.
