For Karol G, the debut of 200 Copas by Casa Dragones felt like the natural next step in what was a deeply meaningful moment in her life and music. "I first knew I wanted to create a tequila for my people when I was recording the 200 Copas music video in Punta Mita, Mexico," said Karol G in an exclusive interview. An increasingly popular destination in the Riviera Nayarit, Punta Mita still manages to feel serene and secluded, far from the bustle of Cancún or Cabo, making it the perfect place to film a bonfire-lit music video with friends.

"That was such a moment of rebirth in my life; it was a moment of freedom and love and celebrating with my friends. I just wanted to share it, and I knew I had to create something that people could join me in toasting with."

Bringing the vision to life with Casa Dragones CEO and cofounder Bertha González Nieves was a match made in heaven. González Nieves is the first-ever female Maestra Tequilera, the highest level of certification for tequila distillers in what is still a heavily male-dominated spirits industry.
