TAVARES STRACTCHAN
the henri christophe
Casa DrAGONES BLANCO, TRIPLE SEC, GUAVA PUREE, SUGARCANE & LIME JUICE
Tavares Strachan’s art blends storytelling with hidden histories, exploring the affinities and contradictions within untold narratives. His ongoing conceptual project, The Encyclopedia of Invisibility, delves into 4,000 pages of overlooked histories. Strachan draws from his Bahamian roots, weaving flavors of guava and sugarcane into a narrative linking his childhood and the story of Henri Christophe, a key figure in the Haitian Revolution and Haiti’s sole monarch.
WILFREDO PRIETO
dragón de hierbabuena
Casa DrAGONES BLANCO, peppermint, lime cordial, soda & absinthe mist
Wilfredo Prieto’s cocktail draws from the familiar mojito, invented in the artist’s home country of Cuba, while embracing his minimalist approach to art. While the cocktail has a simple visuality, peppermint takes center stage with boldness and clarity, evoking the flame or tail of a dragon. Prieto’s work often transforms everyday objects into profound gestures, and this cocktail mirrors that philosophy—simple in appearance but expressive in flavor and meaning, inviting us to reflect on the power of the familiar made extraordinary.
MARIO GARCÍA TORRES
AGUA DE RANCHO
Casa DrAGONES BLANCO, ELDERFLOWER TONIC, LEMON
Mario García Torres has long viewed cocktails as a unique form of art—a mixture of ingredients, both materially and symbolically, to convey deeper ideas. This cocktail creation reflects his personal connection to northern Mexico and the desert.
YVES KLEIN BLUE
Casa DrAGONES BLANCO INFUSED WITH BUTTERFLY PEA TEA, & WHITE VERMOUTH
In Yves Klein’s Le Vide, the only physical art was a cocktail in his signature blue that caused guests to pee blue. Inspired by Klein’s ephemeral exhibition, García Torres explores how an aesthetic experience can linger beyond the immediate moment and affect the body in surprising ways. Together, these two cocktails form a portrait: one side dry and grounded, the other ethereal and conceptual, capturing the duality of the artist himself.
LEILAH BABIRYE
KAMPALA KUCHU SUNRISE
Casa DrAGONES BLANCO, HIBISCUS LIQUEUR, tepache, & sugar cane stick
A twist on the classic Tequila Sunrise, referencing Leilah's hometown of Kampala and her signature use of the term "Kuchu" which translates to "Queer.” Hibiscus is used in many drinks of the African Diaspora. The sugar cane garnish references Leilah's reclamation of the term in her work. The drink’s dark, rich red color from hibiscus looks almost alchemical, similar to the artist’s use of multi-color glazes in her ceramics. The cocktail is served in a tall glass, inspired by Leilah's bronze sculpture Gyagenda.
