A Michelin star chef himself, Enrique Olvera of NYC’s Cosme made the perfect host for this year’s Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants official afterparty. At a private event in Mexico City’s Hotel Carlota, Olvera welcomed a wave of friends, members of the press, and influential voices in the culinary, fashion and design communities to join him for a night spent celebrating the skills and accomplishments of Latin America’s finest chefs and restaurants.
Throughout the night, Tequila Casa Dragones Joven was served from a private bar to dozens of guests including Rafael Osterling of Peru, Hiroshi Kawahito of Rokai and Gerard Bellver of Biko. As it was a true celebration of Latin American talent, of culinary excellence, and the camaraderie and friendships between guests, it was no surprise to see the night roll deep into the night, with the evening’s final guests parting ways just before 4am local time.
For the sixth year in a row, the iHeartRadio Music Festival brought some of the biggest names in the music industry together for two nights of back-to-back performances. The electric atmosphere of Las Vegas and a packed T-Mobile Arena welcomed the first artists to the stage on Friday night including OneRepublic, Sam Hunt, Los 5, Twenty One Pilots and the incredible vocal prowess of the one and only Sia. In a surprise appearance, Miley Cyrus joined Billy Idol on stage before a performance by U2 followed by Drake finished off the Festival’s first night and left the crowd begging for an encore. Throughout the weekend, Tequila Casa Dragones was poured backstage for artists as well as at the VIP platforms and lounges.
Britney Spears kicked off the Music Festival’s second night before country duo, Florida Georgia Line took their melodies to the Main Stage with a piano and guitars in tow. Suddenly, and through excited smiles, the duo broke into the 1997 hit single, “Backstreet’s Back,” and were joined by all five members of the Backstreet Boys for another surprise appearance as jaws everywhere dropped in surprise. The pulsating set by Cage The Elephant sent shockwaves of energy throughout the arena while performances by Ariana Grande, Zedd, Pitbull, Tears for Fears and Sting kept the audience up and out of their seats for the rest of the night. In an incredible showing of his dedication to both the Festival and to his fans across the country, Usher appeared on stage flanked by Ludacris and Lil Jon as the night’s explosive closing act after having practically just stepped off the plane from performing at New York City’s Global Citizens Festival earlier that day.
Friends of The Highline hosted their fourth-annual High Line Art Dinner on a warm late September evening in New York City. The evening kicked off with a cocktail hour featuring Tequila Casa Dragones Joven on the High Line’s iconic Diller – von Furstenberg Sundeck. Over the years, the event has become a favorite amongst influential supporters of art, design, architecture, entertainment and philanthropy – unified by their shared commitment to expanding the role of contemporary art in the public spaces. As the setting sun lit up the sky with a dazzling display of its own, guests posed with Tony Matelli’s hyper-realistic “Sleepwalker” statue while enjoying a live musical performance before nightfall. Before guests sat down for dinner beneath the Chelsea Market passage, guests including the co-founder and Executive Director of Friends of the High Line, Robert Hammond could be seen mingling with guests including artist Tony Matelli and model, Stefanie Raben. This year, Hawaii Polo Life’s Jaguar vs. Land Rover Tournament drew the absolute apex of international polo talent to Honolulu for an afternoon of competition, cocktails, food, and excitement. As the event’s featured Tequila, Casa Dragones was proud to serve an elegant crowd of over 350 guests alongside our fellow attendees including Neiman Marcus and Cartier.
Players from all over the world including Mexico, Argentina and the United States clashed on the field in a fierce competition of athleticism and horsemanship. After a tight match, the four players of Team Jaguar eventually came away with the day’s trophy upon beating Team Land Rover by a final score of 7-6.
To some, Hawaii may seem like an unusual spot for a top-tiered international polo event, as the mind tends to immediately gravitate towards sports like surfing. Interestingly enough though, the sport actually has roots that run incredibly deep into the island nation’s history. The sport has been played across the island chain since the 1880’s when Hawaii was still a kingdom, and has maintained its presence throughout aspects of the nation’s culture ever since. Designed to celebrate just that, Hawaii Polo Life’s clothing line represents the fusion of Hawaiian heritage, polo culture, and their unique location in the Pacific Ocean.
On September 13th, contemporary art lovers, friends, and board members of the Dallas Contemporary gathered to raise shimmering glasses of Tequila Casa Dragones Joven in honor of Mexican artist, Pedro Reyes’ new exhibit, “For Future Reference.” Tequila Casa Dragones was proud to share in this exciting moment that recognized Mexican artistry and the unique talents of Pedro Reyes himself.
The exhibition creates a bridge between sculpture and systems of thought by exploring the connections between visual Greek statuary and Greek philosophy. Throughout the exhibition, Reyes explores the visual representations of famous allegories as seen in his recent sculpture, Plato’s Cave which translates the psychological concepts of the tale into an architectural space.
The evening was hosted at board member, Laree Hulshoff’s private home, which was quickly filled by elegant guests sharing a collective appreciation and love for the contemporary art world. The evening’s attendees were treated to passed hor d’oeuvres and the smooth taste of Casa Dragones Joven as they discussed and celebrated the opening of Reyes’ new exhibit.
