Highlights of Art Basel Miami Beach 2019
From art dinners, fashion parties, museum openings, pool parties and late-night lounges, Casa Dragones took the streets of South Beach for the annual Art Basel Miami Beach 2019 extravaganza to celebrate alongside some of our favorite partners, in some of our favorite places.
At the opening night of the Rubell Museum, hosted by Vanity Fair, Vogue reported that “Sipping on Casa Dragones, everyone enjoyed music by the Misshapes, nibbled on passed hors d’oeuvres, and took in their incredible surrounds.”
During the day, we joined Argentinian artist Leandro Elrich for the unveiling of his monumental installation, “Order of Importance,” curated by Ximena Caminos and Brandi Reddick. Elrich crafted sixty-six sand structures resembling a car traffic jam, with some cars partially buried, referencing the rise of sea levels due to the effects of climate change.
On Wednesday night, Casa Dragones Joven was paired at a stunning outdoor dinner with galleries kurimanzutto, Chantal Crousel, Barbara Wien, Greene Naftali, and Kukje Gallery honoring South Korean artist Haegue Yang. We also joined Bottega Veneta to celebrate the opening of their new store in Miami’s Design District, with a gold-clad take-over of the iconic 11st Street Diner.
As the week progressed, so did the parties, with an outdoor pool party at SLS, an A-list party for fashion and art icon Ashley Longshore at the Hilfiger’s private residence, and a party at the Blade Lounge Miami at Faena’s Pao Terrace. To close the week, we joined Amaya Society as they hosted a private dinner in the secret garden at the Freehand Hotel in Miami, followed by a late-night party at Broken Shaker.
