Summer Events with Frieze Magazine in Los Angeles
On July 18 and 19, Casa Dragones joined Frieze Magazine for two summer events in Los Angeles. The first took place on the 18th at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), to celebrate the recent opening of This Brush for Hire Norm Laich & Many Other Artists, an exhibition curated by Meg Cranston. In a panel discussion lead by Frieze Magazine’s Associate Editor, Evan Moffitt, three former “brush for hires”—Monique van Genderen, Fay Ray, and T. Kelly Mason—came together in the gallery space to discuss the role of the artist assistant. Prior to the talk, guests gathered for a welcome reception and enjoyed our classic Dragones Rocks.
On the 19th, Casa Dragones joined Frieze Magazine on the pool deck at The Line hotel in Koreatown for a special reception to celebrate the Altered States summer issue. The cocktail party, which was hosted by Frieze’s Andrew Durbin, Jonathan Griffin, Melissa Goldberg, and Evan Moffitt, followed a conversation at the Marciano Art Foundation between David Lynch and Durbin, where a new film about meditation and David’s work premiered. During the post-talk reception, guests enjoyed the Casa Diablo––one of our featured Pure Summer cocktails––and of course, Dragones rocks.
