Celebrating Mexican Culture at the 3.1 Phillip Lim Concept Store
Tequila Casa Dragones has joined forces with 3.1 Phillip Lim for the first installment of its Global Citizen Series: a month-long celebration of art, culture and design, starting with Mexico. The two modern-minded brands, who were drawn together by a mutual dedication to craftsmanship, will host an event each Thursday in the month of May (see below for schedule) at the 3.1 Phillip Lim concept store in Downtown Los Angeles. Additionally, during regular store hours, visitors will be able to view installations from leading Mexican artists, curated by Paramo Galeria De Arte based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
On May 3, the collaboration kicked off with a music-fueled Cinco de Mayo fiesta featuring live performances from local bands Sin Color, The Mexican Standoff, and all-female Mariachi Lindas Mexicanas Oficial. Guests, which included Trina Turk and Jonathan Skow, Barneys New York’s Creative Ambassador-at-Large Simon Doonan, and Co-founder of Culver City Men’s store Magasin Josh Peskowitz, were served two Casa Dragones Blanco cocktails–Infante and Mexico City Margarita–as well as Casa Dragones Blanco on the rocks with a twist, while bites were provided by Jessica Koslow of L.A. brunch favorite Sqirl and Gabriela Cámara of buzzy restaurants Cala in San Francisco and Contramar in Mexico City.
